Just so you're aware Fraser, SEMRush data is something we offer within Raven. They provide us data for keyword and competitive research.

We have been using Domainface (Which is integrated with Market Samurai) to get high PR domains to power my link wheels and have had amazing results so I guess I would have Domainface at number 2 just under MS :)

I can honestly say I have never paid for any SEO tools – maybe I should reconsider. I think of them as simpler and quicker – but not better than the manual tools that are available.

Having done a brief bit of research looking at this list here, then I might take a chance on paying for Market Samurai to see if it speeds up my workflow a little bit.

Thanks for the great list. I love Market Samurai (although it seems a bit buggy lately) and have just started using SEOmoz (30 day free trial – can't beat that price). I haven't heard of any of the others, so I'll have to check them out.

    +1 for SEMRush and Majestic

Choosing between Raven and SEOMoz? No question, go with SEOMoz. OSE is great (but better in combination with Majestic). Moz's API is fantastic if you're advanced. And their upcoming competition comparison tool is amazing.

I've seen demos of enterprise tools like BrightEdge, SearchLight, and RankAbove. No idea where they get off charging the prices they do for products that are glorified rank trackers. Here's a hint, Authority Labs most expensive plan is $500/mo. That delivers 99.9% of the value most enterprise customers are actually buying.

  14. Rattan says:

Those are very great tools. But.., why isn't IBP on the list? Maybe some of us think that taking our money our from our pocket for paid directories is better than IBP. True…, what is better think on SEO than high quality backlinks?

  15. David Moore says:

Fantastic list of resources, I've found the SEOMOZ blog a really useful source of information and their opensite explorer tool is really useful (you get a fair amount of link data for free).

One tool that isn't listed (probably as it's not really a link building tool) is called Testimonial Monkey (www.testimonialmonkey.com) which can help automate the process of adding customer testimonials to your website. The user generated content is very natural and usually keyword rich so it can also help to have a positive effect on seach engine rankings.

  16. Kent Mauresmo says:

I was actually torn between Keyword Elite and Market Samurai. Hmm..I think I should buy them both.

But Link Assistant is really good too for SEO. Most of the products you mentioned above are really good for PPC marketing.

Great listing! I love to use SEOmoz tool with opensite explorer. It is really very effective tool in use. Moreover, Google Analytics is also useful.
I think Elite and SEOmoz are good one to data-drive analysis.
