Thanks for the response Andamios. I understand completely ... its difficult to condense what you want to say to 140 characters. Perhaps another way to look at it is to say; with Twitter I'll summarize and generate interest in the actual post, driving traffic to it. Thoughts?

Each to their own, I suppose. I like LiveJournal, but some people would look at the long stuff I write and say why on earth would she want to do that... writing half a novel about her daily life for all her friends list to see... those online people she'll never meet in person probably know more about her than her own family does!

So sure, I look at Twitter and wonder... tweet twiiter tooted twitted... whuh... whuh why? Communicate in tiny messages? I'm Italian, I'm too long-winded for that! But between the two, places for long-winded people like me to blog and places for short-winded people like them to blog, the internet's got something for everyone.

Will bookmark this to show to those who ever ask me what is Twitter good for? Fantastic list. In the last month on big T i've made affiliate sales, snatched up RSS readers, followers, and god knows what else. My all time fave web 3.0 tool.

P.S. I love your GIANT green guest post button. Caught my attention front and center. Nice!

Some social sites, e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn, Plaxo, ... can get tweets, i.e., I only have to use Twitter to update my status on all sites!

The real question is: when time is money, what do you do with so many followers?

@ Michael Long - thanks Michael. I know I was late to Twitter, so it really helped to think out all the benefits.

@ Tycoon Blogger - thank you for the complement! It was a fun post to put together.

@ Venkat - absolutely, I met some great bloggers through Twitter.

@ Tom Duong - agreed completely Tom ... though always be aware of the amount of time you spend. In the end, there needs to be some sort of an ROI

@ Pittsburg SEO - thanks for forwarding. That was exactly my hope ... that it would help others "get it".
