Has Uncoverthenet.com Been Penalized By Google?

by The Guy August 27th, 2007

According to The Wiz of SearchEnginePeople.com Internet stalwart and SEO guru paid directory of yore, Uncoverthenet.com appears to have been blacklisted and removed by Google.

A simple site search on Google http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=.. shows no reslts. A simple search for uncoverthenet also reveals no results for the site itself. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rlz=1T4GFRC..

Google of course has the right to do as it please with regard it's own business however, is it possible that the paid links exceptions are going too far?

Only time will tell. After all, paid inclusion extends to every store that extends a portion of its sales to Amazon. Or to Yahoo. Or to Ebay. Or to, well, I'm sure you get the point.

And in the end, what is Adwords, if not paid inclusion.

We'll keep an eye open.

Have a good one.

  1. Maybe it's deindexed by the double content proxy hacking explicit, am not sure about that but it could happen.

  2. unlucky. That cant be good for their business.

  3. I can see not giving extral link credit to paid links, but I don't know why you would ban a site for buying or selling them. Seems like there is more to this story than a paid links problem.

  4. When your site is filled with duplicate content, and its nothing more then a links site to other sites, what do you really expect? From the looks of things, uncoverthenet was filled with RSS feeds from sites like Yahoo news. While RSS feeds are not a bad thing, filling your site with duplicate content is a very bad thing. Instead of providing a clean link back to the source, the owner tried to open the source inside of a frame. Next time, publish some original content and provide a clean link back to the source.
