The Follow Up: Once you have built a “Relationship” with your list and they have bought from you once, you now have a customer for life. Your customers are like gold, they already like and trust you, so sell them more products that you know will help them.

I heard a Seth Godin interview today and he said he sends a thank you email to everyone that buys one of his books. I think we all should have that "purple cow" attitude.

Marketing Sherpa currently pimp co-reg on their thank you pages. Anything to do with handling co-reg email I would look on as advanced email marketing, unless you want to get burned.

Hi

This is very useful information. The discipline of improving visitor retention/sale value is valuable because it transfers easily to different websites/business models whereas getting the traffic in the first place has to be started from ground zero for each project. If you have a number of sites/business models you could apply this knowledge across them to get a more or less instant uplift to your income.

thanks

Good post. I really like the ideas on the B2B, this will surely increase the credibility and would reassure the customers that they are in the right place.

I do find most of the Thank you pages lead back to the homepage with Meta Refresh and what are your thoughts on that?
