One of the most irritating things that companies do is sending those 'don't reply' e- mails. That sounds really really rude.

Excellent post Ruud. I've seen local and small niche companies try to engage in their communities in more of a wide-spread manner when they really should be talking to individuals in a one-off basis because they can. Good approach that your post highlights.

This requires constant monitoring of the brand's services or products and to identify and address to problems posted on the net. It is a good way to promote constant interaction and better ORM in the long run.

For example, nothing is more frustrating for people than to have a problem, especially with the specific product or service, and no one is there, no one replies.

To be ignored by “your” company is beyond frustrating; it’s insulting…

More annoying is when an automated macbine asks you to push buttons and keeps you on hold assuring you that you are valuable but just then all reps are busy! If all of them are busy, then it means that there are so many more people complaining!
