Durham Innovation Growing – Search Engine People Expand – Again

Ajax, ON – April 10, 2012 – Search Engine People (SEP), recognized as one of Canada's fastest growing companies is expanding once again, this time spreading its innovative success throughout the Region of Durham.

Eleven years ago, Ajax resident Jeff Quipp, CEO and founder of Search Engine People (SEP), realized his dream of building Canada's leading search engine optimization and pay-per-click advertising company. The business grew and justified the move into office space in the Durham Business Offices. It was only eight months until that space became too small. They moved to Salem Road and the 401 and a few months later, once again, outgrew the space moving to their current 10,000 square foot office on Westney Road South near the Ajax GO Train station. With this track record it is not surprising that SEP is once again on the move.

"Maybe I should have started a moving company," jokes Jeff Quipp who will take possession in June of what he hopes will be his final stop at Liverpool Road and the 401 in Pickering. "The move signals great success for our company. Being in Durham Region is important to us, and this location gives us room for expansion."

The new location will accommodate its current 85 employees, and the anticipated 165 additional hires expected over the next three years, having scooped up clients that include Rogers Communications, Astral Media, Purolator, as well as small and medium sized companies.

The space will continue to include SEP's popular game room, exercise equipment – which will now have a separate area with a shower – and its standing treadmill-like work station for people who need to move around as they use their computer. Its meeting rooms will also retain their signature humour-filled titles such as "Here", "There" and "I Don't Know".

"Our team has helped nurture and support Search Engine People, and we wish Jeff and his team great success in this next chapter of their development," said Town of Ajax Mayor Steve Parish. "Ajax is a strong entrepreneurial hub with award-winning business support, and the SEP story is a great example of what we are here to do for local companies."

The Town of Ajax has been a strong partner in assisting SEP with its strong growth, and it is reciprocal. SEP partnered with the Town to assist other regional businesses through the Ajax Business Network events and the first of its kind "Social Marketing for Business Workshop Series". The Town also promoted SEP through the website, newsletters as well as nominating the organization for the prestigious Ajax-Pickering Board of Trade's Business Excellence Awards-where Search Engine People won the 2011 Business Excellence Award, and Quipp was awarded Business Person of the Year.

"One of the best ways to predict the future is to invent it," said Quipp. "We are grateful for the support from the Town of Ajax and, their continued investment in the community and belief in the entrepreneurs of this region. It's a great place to build a business and give innovation a real chance."

Search Engine People (SEP) is Canada's largest and most trusted Internet marketing company. It was established in 2001 in response to the market need for a search engine optimization (SEO) company that delivers reliable, measurable results. Founded as Quipp Internet Marketing Solutions (QIMS), the company evolved into a full-service Internet Marketing firm and was rebranded in 2003 as Search Engine People Inc. Its team of over 80 seasoned experts is the trusted choice for over 600 clients worldwide, including many of Canada's top brands.
