Search Engine People Inc. is currently seeking a talented and creative In-House Account Manager of Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and Internet Marketing (IM) to join our rapidly growing Internet Marketing Team. The position is to service small to medium accounts primary via phone. The Account Manager role is responsible for overseeing all facets of his/her accounts, and will direct a dedicated team (pod) of specialists in each field. This includes ensuring that SEP creates, measures and delivers on all aspects of SEM, SEO, Internet Marketing and Web 2.0, Email, and Usability as well as meeting client goals.
The Account Manager is ultimately accountable for clients’ satisfaction with the SEP programs. He/she is responsible for managing the account team to ensure individual skills are being developed and best practices are continually being updated and shared across the SEM department. It is the responsibility of the Account Manager to ensure SEP clients are educated on new SEM, SEO, Internet Marketing, Email and Usability and the results of any IM program are conveyed to the client in meaningful ways to the client’s business. It is the expectation that the Account Manager Feed will develop a high-level, operational understanding of our clients’ businesses so that he/she will be able to position SEP as a strategic long-term resource in the clients’ marketing mix. The Account Manager is expected to be able to successfully perform all duties autonomously with limited direct management oversight required from upper management.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Confer with client in a presales role, utilizing SEO, Paid Placement, Internet Marketing, Email, Usability, and Tracking and Reporting knowledge and research to understand and/or help determine search marketing goals in order to develop the best search strategy for the client
- Develop relationships with clients; and to build and nurture those relationships
- Create proposals, presentations, regular reporting, and other documents for client use in the evaluation and approval of all initiatives and plans/programs
- Use market research and search engine technology data to work with SEM team members to evaluate, adjust, and redirect SEM team efforts and campaigns as necessary. Also seeks new opportunities to provide additional services within existing client accounts
- Direct and manage the resources of SEP in the delivery of all client programs and services, and to work closely with the team to ensure that all client deliverables are met and client expectations are exceeded. This includes ensuring internal processes are followed, and that campaigns are being actively monitored and enhanced
- Ensure the timely renewal of client SEM programs to avoid any interruption in client service.
- Works with VP of Operations to ensure all client contracts are in place and that SEP and client objectives are met.
- Provide clients and internal department members with industry updates and relative articles.
- Manage all day-to-day client account activities
- Manage the overall budget of the team/pod
The ideal candidate will have 4+ years experience managing accounts and relationships via phone. Some experience with Search Engine Optimization is required. Project management skills and the talent to work directly with clients are critical. Ideally, you’ve worked for an agency in a similar capacity and already have significant experience with digital media.
This position is based out of our head office in Ajax Ontario.
Fluency in additional languages is an asset
Compensation commensurate with experience.
