Technology Coordinator

We have an excellent opportunity for Technology Coordinator to join our team. Based out of our head office in Pickering, Ontario, you will be responsibility for the Companys IT desktop support service and network. You will provide IT support to users to resolve connectivity, software or hardware issues by using your excellent problem solving skills and knowledge of platforms used. You will also ensure all requests are tracked, handled in a timely manner and issues are documented. In addition to providing traditional help desk support, this role will also work with our Web Performance team coordinate a variety of development projects.

What Youll Do:

IT Support / Help Desk (approximately 70% of time)

  • Provide front-line IT Support to employees for matters relating to hardware/software related questions and problems, including application issues, printing, network connectivity etc.
  • Ensure the network and machines are secure from spam and malware
  • Ensure security across all our platforms, network, servers, mobile devices, wi-fi, user backup and disaster recovery
  • Take appropriate steps to investigate and resolve complex issues and escalate appropriately
  • Ensure that the help desk is monitored during business hours and that requests are assessed and resolved based on urgency and nature of the problem
  • Set-up and maintain data back-ups, disaster recovery and manage email and all internal communications
  • Monitor and follow-up on all requests including on-boarding and off-boarding employees including assigning and logging loaner equipment, clean returned equipment and install new software as required
  • Recommend and perform hardware and software upgrades, troubleshoot and diagnose problems on systems. Arrange for external service calls and repairs when necessary.
  • Stay up to date and be a knowledge resource on new vulnerabilities and technology to help increase productivity

Project Coordinator (approximately 30% of time)

  • Proactively communicate timelines and project information to the Client Services team
  • Review and provide status updates on all projects in the development queue and flag delays or issues
  • Act as a back up to the Project Manager on large projects
  • Assist team members with updating project-related tasks in scheduling software, content migration, or related tasks
  • Assist in the preparation of agreements, proposals and other documents

What you have:

  • Prefer MCSA, CompTIA A+ certification, or similar
  • Post-secondary education in IT or computers
  • Strong ability and experience in setting up, repairing and administrating Windows computers & networks
  • Able to administrate a windows-based network, both local and remote with a solid understanding of core internet technologies – DHCP, DNS, mail transport, TCP/IP
  • Preference given for experience also working with Macs
  • 1-2 years of experience working in an office environment
  • Well-developed sense of service, pro-active and self-motivated personality
  • Well-developed hardware and software troubleshooting skills on servers, PCs and network equipment
  • Organized, detail-oriented, with the ability to work in a constantly changing environment
  • Ability to plan and execute small projects in a timely manner
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Project & MS Office Suite
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a collaborative team-based culture
  • Excellent English communication both written and verbal
  • Self-starter and must be able to work with minimum supervision
