“Google” Sung to the tune of “Grandpa” by the Judds
May 24th, 2007 by ShirleyTipsy
Google, tell me ’bout the good ole days.
Sometimes it feels like
This web’s gone crazy.
Google, take me back to yesterday,
Where the line between ranking or not
Was keyword density.
Did websites really get to the top and stay?
Competing for keywords seemed more like play.
Was PageRank really something people kept,
Not just something they would get - and then complain?
Did webmasters bow their heads to pray,
That their traffic would never go away?
Woah Oh, Google,
Tell me ’bout the good ole days.
Google, everything is changing fast.
We call it progress,
And act like we understand.
And Google, let’s wander back into the past,
A sad dusty remnant of an ancient algo.
Did websites really get to the top and stay?
Competing for keywords seemed more like play.
Was PageRank really something people kept,
Not just something they would get - and then complain?
Did webmasters bow their heads to pray,
That their traffic would never go away?
Woah Oh, Google,
Tell me ’bout the good ole days.
Woah Oh, Google,
Tell me ’bout the good ole days.

Wow … excellent Job ShirlyTipsy. I’m a big fan of the original, and your version is equally impressive.
Thanks for participating, and good luck!
