“Hotel California” by the Eagles
May 24th, 2007 by Mr.PPC
If the eagles where SEOs … would they sing this tune instead?
On a dell desktop laptop, cool mouse in my hand
Warm touch of keyboard, brings me 3 hundred grand
Up ahead in the link-bait, I saw a Digg-worthy bite
My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim
I had to write for the night
There spam stood in the doorway;
I heard the search engine bell
And I was thinking to myself,
’this could be white hat or this could be hell’
Then she lit up the Page Rank and she showed me the way
There were voices down the blogosphere,
I thought I heard them say…
Welcome to the Golden Go-ogle-Page-One
Such a lovely place
Such a lovely face
Limited room at the Golden Go-ogle-Page-One
Any time of year, you can fight it here
Her mind is linkbaity-twisted, she got the 302 Redirect
She got a lot of spammy, spammy links, that she calls legit
How they index in search engines, sweet SEO test.
Some Blog to remember, some Blog to forget.
So I called up the DMOZ,
’please list me in here!’
They said, ’we haven’t had that spirit here since the nineteen ninety years’
And still those voices are blogging from far away,
Wake you up in the middle of the night
Just to hear them say…
Welcome to the Golden Go-ogle-Page-One
Such a lovely place
Such a lovely face
They livin’ it up at the Golden Go-ogle-Page-One
What a nice surprise, bring your alibis
Mirror on the ceiling,
The pink anchor text on ice
And she said ’we are all just YouTuber’s here, and not all are nice’
And in the forums of MySpace,
They gathered for the feast
They stab it with their Technorati tags,
But they just can’t kill the beast
Last thing I remember, I was
In the supplemental door
I had to find the passage back
To the place I was before
’relax,’ said the Cutts man,
The Algorithm got you deceived.
You can request for inclusion any time you like
But you can never leave!

Good try Mr PPC! Mr PPC is one of our employees here at SEP, and loves the contest. He knows he cannot win though.
Love the line “some blog to remember, some blog to forget”. Think that one will stay with me.
