Phoenix Ranked Most Expensive City for Google Adwords in USA

SEP's ongoing research into PPC Campaigns has revealed that Phoenix was the most expensive city in USA in keyword bids in Google Adwords for the month of September 2016. Phoenix also ranks as the most expensive city in Rocky Mountain States and Arizona. In the study, Ontario ranked as the least expensive city in the country, while Ontario ranked as the least expensive city.

Year over Year Google Adwords Prices for Phoenix are up in September 2016

SEP's research shows that the average price of a click to advertisers targeting Phoenix keywords increased by (Yr/Yr increase %)% versus the same keywords one year earlier.

Google Adwords Keyword Prices 141% Higher in Phoenix than Glendale

SEP’s research also tracks Google Adwords price changes and trends in cities across Canada and the U.S. Recent data shows that average prices in Phoenix are 141% higher than in Glendale. The average price of a click in Phoenix is $29.40.

This price difference is understandable though, given the population of Glendale is less than Phoenix, which generally means less competition and therefore lower prices.

To understand if prices in Phoenix are relatively low, we also compared prices with Philadelphia which has a similar population, and found the average price of a click in Phoenix was 63% higher than in Philadelphia. This suggests that perhaps Phoenix prices are not relatively low.

The Price Rank shows how expensive keywords are in certain industry and segment relative to other cities in a country, region and province.
