Irvine Ranks Amongst Most Expensive Markets for Keywords in Pacific States

SEP's ongoing research into PPC Campaigns has revealed that Irvine was the 13rd most expensive city in Pacific States in keyword bids in Google Adwords for the month of March 2015. Irvine also ranks amongst the most expensive cities in California, ranking 10th. In the study, San Buenaventura ranked as the most expensive city in Pacific States for keywords, while Ontario ranked as the least expensive city.

Google Adwords Keyword Prices 7% Higher in Irvine than Costa Mesa

SEP’s research also tracks Google Adwords price changes and trends in cities across Canada and the U.S. Recent data shows that average prices in Irvine are 7% higher than in Costa Mesa. The average price of a click in Irvine is $15.14.

This price difference is understandable though, given the population of Costa Mesa is less than Irvine, which generally means less competition and therefore lower prices.

To understand if prices in Irvine are relatively low, we also compared prices with Winston-salem which has a similar population, and found the average price of a click in Irvine was 84% higher than in Winston-salem. This suggests that perhaps Irvine prices are not relatively low.

An ongoing PPC Study by Search Engine People tracks and monitors how paid search in North America’s Top Cities is changing over time for select industries.

The study illustrates the Average Price-Per-Click in a given city for select Industries and their related segments. Additionally, it reveals its current rank to other markets in a Country, Province, and its Month over Month % Price change.

This PPC study monitors the prices of keywords, number of advertisers competing for those keywords, and search volumes. To ensure relative market-to-market comparison keywords tracked are based on sufficient search volumes in all markets studied.
