Lancaster Ranks Amongst Most Expensive Markets for Keywords in Pacific States

SEP's ongoing research into PPC Campaigns has revealed that Lancaster was the 8th most expensive city in Pacific States in keyword bids in Google Adwords for the month of July 2015. Lancaster also ranks amongst the most expensive cities in California, ranking 6th. In the study, San Buenaventura ranked as the most expensive city in Pacific States for keywords, while Ontario ranked as the least expensive city.

SEP's research shows that the average price of a click to advertisers targeting Lancaster keywords increased by 11% in July 2015.

Not surprisingly, the month over month price increases for Lancaster Google Adwords terms helped increase prices (yr./yr. price increase)% higher than the same period last year.

Google Adwords Keyword Prices 303% Higher in Lancaster than Palmdale

SEP’s research also tracks Google Adwords price changes and trends in cities across Canada and the U.S. Recent data shows that average prices in Lancaster are 303% higher than in Palmdale. The average price of a click in Lancaster is $18.39.

This price difference is understandable though, given the population of Palmdale is less than Lancaster, which generally means less competition and therefore lower prices.

To understand if prices in Lancaster are relatively low, we also compared prices with Corona which has a similar population, and found the average price of a click in Lancaster was 87% higher than in Corona. This suggests that perhaps Lancaster prices are not relatively low.

The Price Rank shows how expensive keywords are in certain industry and segment relative to other cities in a country, region and province.

About SEP Research*

An ongoing PPC Study by Search Engine People tracks and monitors how paid search in North America’s Top Cities is changing over time for select industries.

The study illustrates the Average Price-Per-Click in a given city for select Industries and their related segments. Additionally, it reveals its current rank to other markets in a Country, Province, and its Month over Month % Price change.

This PPC study monitors the prices of keywords, number of advertisers competing for those keywords, and search volumes. To ensure relative market-to-market comparison keywords tracked are based on sufficient search volumes in all markets studied.

The study includes a limited numbers of keywords to represent each industry, and specific segments in each industry. The main industries tracked are:
