Santa Barbara Ranks Amongst Most Expensive Markets for Keywords in Pacific States

SEP's ongoing research into PPC Campaigns has revealed that Santa Barbara was the 15th most expensive city in Pacific States in keyword bids in Google Adwords for the month of August 2016. Santa Barbara also ranks amongst the most expensive cities in California, ranking 12nd. In the study, San Buenaventura ranked as the most expensive city in Pacific States for keywords, while Modesto ranked as the least expensive city.

SEP's research shows that the average price of a click to advertisers targeting Santa Barbara keywords increased by 21% in August 2016.

Not surprisingly, the month over month price increases for Santa Barbara Google Adwords terms helped increase prices (yr./yr. price increase)% higher than the same period last year.

Google Adwords Keyword Prices 0% Higher in Santa Barbara than San Buenaventura

SEP’s research also tracks Google Adwords price changes and trends in cities across Canada and the U.S. Recent data shows that average prices in Santa Barbara are 0% higher than in San Buenaventura. The average price of a click in Santa Barbara is $16.47.

This price differential is somewhat surprising however, as San Buenaventura has a larger population than Santa Barbara.

To get a better sense of relative prices, we also compared prices with another city with a similar population, Columbia, and found the average price of a click in Santa Barbara was 26% higher than in Columbia.

The Price Rank shows how expensive keywords are in certain industry and segment relative to other cities in a country, region and province.

The study illustrates the Average Price-Per-Click in a given city for select Industries and their related segments. Additionally, it reveals its current rank to other markets in a Country, Province, and its Month over Month % Price change.

This PPC study monitors the prices of keywords, number of advertisers competing for those keywords, and search volumes. To ensure relative market-to-market comparison keywords tracked are based on sufficient search volumes in all markets studied.
