Stockton Ranks Amongst Least Expensive Markets for Google Adwords in USA

SEP's ongoing research into PPC Campaigns has revealed that Stockton was the 191st least expensive city in USA in keyword bids in Google Adwords for the month of September 2016. Stockton also ranks amongst the least expensive cities in California, ranking as number 50th. In the study, San Buenaventura ranked as the most expensive city in the country, while Ontario ranked as the least expensive city.

SEP's research shows that the average price of a click to advertisers targeting Stockton keywords increased by 23% in September 2016.

Not surprisingly, the month over month price increases for Stockton Google Adwords terms helped increase prices (yr./yr. price increase)% higher than the same period last year.

Google Adwords Keyword Prices 35% Lower in Stockton than Modesto

SEP’s research also tracks Google Adwords price changes and trends in cities across Canada and the U.S. Recent data shows that average prices in Stockton are 35% lower than in Modesto. The average price of a click in Stockton is $9.59.

This price difference is interesting though, given the population of Modesto is less than Stockton.

To get a better sense of relative prices, we also compared prices with another similarly sized city, Cincinnati, and found the average price of a click in Stockton was 42% lower than in Cincinnati.
