Baton Rouge Ranks Amongst Most Expensive Markets for Keywords in West South Central

SEP's ongoing research into PPC Campaigns has revealed that Baton Rouge was the 9th most expensive city in West South Central in keyword bids in Google Adwords for the month of September 2014. Baton Rouge also ranks amongst the most expensive cities in Louisiana, ranking 1st. In the study, Mesquite ranked as the most expensive city in West South Central for keywords, while Midland ranked as the least expensive city.

Google Adwords Keyword Prices 47% Higher in Baton Rouge than Lafayette

SEP’s research also tracks Google Adwords price changes and trends in cities across Canada and the U.S. Recent data shows that average prices in Baton Rouge are 47% higher than in Lafayette. The average price of a click in Baton Rouge is $14.68.

This price difference is understandable though, given the population of Lafayette is less than Baton Rouge, which generally means less competition and therefore lower prices.

To understand if prices in Baton Rouge are relatively low, we also compared prices with Gilbert which has a similar population, and found the average price of a click in Baton Rouge was 66% higher than in Gilbert. This suggests that perhaps Baton Rouge prices are not relatively low.

The Price Rank shows how expensive keywords are in certain industry and segment relative to other cities in a country, region and province.

The study illustrates the Average Price-Per-Click in a given city for select Industries and their related segments. Additionally, it reveals its current rank to other markets in a Country, Province, and its Month over Month % Price change.

This PPC study monitors the prices of keywords, number of advertisers competing for those keywords, and search volumes. To ensure relative market-to-market comparison keywords tracked are based on sufficient search volumes in all markets studied.
