New Orleans Ranks Amongst Most Expensive Markets for Keywords in West South Central

SEP's ongoing research into PPC Campaigns has revealed that New Orleans was the 10th most expensive city in West South Central in keyword bids in Google Adwords for the month of April 2015. New Orleans also ranks amongst the most expensive cities in Louisiana, ranking 2nd. In the study, Austin ranked as the most expensive city in West South Central for keywords, while El Paso ranked as the least expensive city.

SEP's research shows that the average price of a click to advertisers targeting New Orleans keywords increased by 13% in April 2015.

Google Adwords Keyword Prices 280% Higher in New Orleans than Gulfport

SEP’s research also tracks Google Adwords price changes and trends in cities across Canada and the U.S. Recent data shows that average prices in New Orleans are 280% higher than in Gulfport. The average price of a click in New Orleans is $16.72.

This price difference is understandable though, given the population of Gulfport is less than New Orleans, which generally means less competition and therefore lower prices.

To understand if prices in New Orleans are relatively low, we also compared prices with Arlington which has a similar population, and found the average price of a click in New Orleans was 23% higher than in Arlington. This suggests that perhaps New Orleans prices are not relatively low.

The Price Rank shows how expensive keywords are in certain industry and segment relative to other cities in a country, region and province.
