New Orleans Ranks Amongst Most Expensive Markets for Keywords in West South Central

SEP's ongoing research into PPC Campaigns has revealed that New Orleans was the 10th most expensive city in West South Central in keyword bids in Google Adwords for the month of December 2014. New Orleans also ranks amongst the most expensive cities in Louisiana, ranking 2nd. In the study, Frisco ranked as the most expensive city in West South Central for keywords, while El Paso ranked as the least expensive city.

Google Adwords Keyword Prices 478% Higher in New Orleans than Gulfport

SEP’s research also tracks Google Adwords price changes and trends in cities across Canada and the U.S. Recent data shows that average prices in New Orleans are 478% higher than in Gulfport. The average price of a click in New Orleans is $15.09.

This price difference is understandable though, given the population of Gulfport is less than New Orleans, which generally means less competition and therefore lower prices.

To understand if prices in New Orleans are relatively low, we also compared prices with Arlington which has a similar population, and found the average price of a click in New Orleans was 31% higher than in Arlington. This suggests that perhaps New Orleans prices are not relatively low.

The study illustrates the Average Price-Per-Click in a given city for select Industries and their related segments. Additionally, it reveals its current rank to other markets in a Country, Province, and its Month over Month % Price change.

This PPC study monitors the prices of keywords, number of advertisers competing for those keywords, and search volumes. To ensure relative market-to-market comparison keywords tracked are based on sufficient search volumes in all markets studied.
