St. Louis Ranks Amongst Least Expensive Markets for Google Adwords in USA

SEP's ongoing research into PPC Campaigns has revealed that St. Louis was the 88th least expensive city in USA in keyword bids in Google Adwords for the month of September 2016. St. Louis also ranks amongst the least expensive cities in Missouri, ranking as number 2nd. In the study, San Buenaventura ranked as the most expensive city in the country, while Ontario ranked as the least expensive city.

SEP's research shows that the average price of a click to advertisers targeting St. Louis keywords increased by 20% in September 2016.

Google Adwords Keyword Prices 70% Higher in St. Louis than Springfield

SEP’s research also tracks Google Adwords price changes and trends in cities across Canada and the U.S. Recent data shows that average prices in St. Louis are 70% higher than in Springfield. The average price of a click in St. Louis is $14.32.

This price difference is understandable though, given the population of Springfield is less than St. Louis, which generally means less competition and therefore lower prices.

To understand if prices in St. Louis are relatively low, we also compared prices with Riverside which has a similar population, and found the average price of a click in St. Louis was 21% higher than in Riverside. This suggests that perhaps St. Louis prices are not relatively low.

The Price Rank shows how expensive keywords are in certain industry and segment relative to other cities in a country, region and province.
