St. Louis Ranks Amongst Most Expensive Markets for Keywords in Rocky Mountain States

SEP's ongoing research into PPC Campaigns has revealed that St. Louis was the 13rd most expensive city in Rocky Mountain States in keyword bids in Google Adwords for the month of May 2016. St. Louis also ranks amongst the most expensive cities in Missouri, ranking 2nd. In the study, Ann Arbour ranked as the most expensive city in Rocky Mountain States for keywords, while Fort Wayne ranked as the least expensive city.

Year over Year Google Adwords Prices for St. Louis are up in May 2016

SEP's research shows that the average price of a click to advertisers targeting St. Louis keywords increased by (Yr/Yr increase %)% versus the same keywords one year earlier.

Google Adwords Keyword Prices 73% Higher in St. Louis than Springfield

SEP’s research also tracks Google Adwords price changes and trends in cities across Canada and the U.S. Recent data shows that average prices in St. Louis are 73% higher than in Springfield. The average price of a click in St. Louis is $17.81.

This price difference is understandable though, given the population of Springfield is less than St. Louis, which generally means less competition and therefore lower prices.

To understand if prices in St. Louis are relatively low, we also compared prices with Riverside which has a similar population, and found the average price of a click in St. Louis was 68% higher than in Riverside. This suggests that perhaps St. Louis prices are not relatively low.

The Price Rank shows how expensive keywords are in certain industry and segment relative to other cities in a country, region and province.
