New York City Ranks Amongst Most Expensive Markets for Keywords in Middle Atlantic

SEP's ongoing research into PPC Campaigns has revealed that New York City was the 4th most expensive city in Middle Atlantic in keyword bids in Google Adwords for the month of March 2015. New York City also ranks amongst the most expensive cities in New York, ranking 1st. In the study, The Bronx ranked as the most expensive city in Middle Atlantic for keywords, while Buffalo ranked as the least expensive city.

Google Adwords Keyword Prices 38% Lower in New York City than Jersey City

SEP’s research also tracks Google Adwords price changes and trends in cities across Canada and the U.S. Recent data shows that average prices in New York City are 38% lower than in Jersey City. The average price of a click in New York City is $16.31.

This price difference is interesting though, given the population of Jersey City is less than New York City.

To get a better sense of relative prices, we also compared prices with another similarly sized city, Philadelphia, and found the average price of a click in New York City was 25% lower than in Philadelphia.

The study illustrates the Average Price-Per-Click in a given city for select Industries and their related segments. Additionally, it reveals its current rank to other markets in a Country, Province, and its Month over Month % Price change.

This PPC study monitors the prices of keywords, number of advertisers competing for those keywords, and search volumes. To ensure relative market-to-market comparison keywords tracked are based on sufficient search volumes in all markets studied.
