Memphis Ranks Amongst Least Expensive Markets for Google Adwords in USA

SEP's ongoing research into PPC Campaigns has revealed that Memphis was the 121st least expensive city in USA in keyword bids in Google Adwords for the month of May 2016. Memphis also ranks amongst the least expensive cities in Tennessee, ranking as number 4th. In the study, San Buenaventura ranked as the most expensive city in the country, while Ontario ranked as the least expensive city.

SEP's research shows that the average price of a click to advertisers targeting Memphis keywords increased by 10% in May 2016.

Not surprisingly, the month over month price increases for Memphis Google Adwords terms helped increase prices (yr./yr. price increase)% higher than the same period last year.

Google Adwords Keyword Prices 192% Higher in Memphis than Independence

SEP’s research also tracks Google Adwords price changes and trends in cities across Canada and the U.S. Recent data shows that average prices in Memphis are 192% higher than in Independence. The average price of a click in Memphis is $12.07.

This price difference is understandable though, given the population of Independence is less than Memphis, which generally means less competition and therefore lower prices.

To get a better sense of relative prices, we also compared prices with another city of equal population, Seattle, and found the average price of a click in Memphis was 42% lower than in Seattle. This suggests that perhaps prices in Memphis are relatively low.

The Price Rank shows how expensive keywords are in certain industry and segment relative to other cities in a country, region and province.

The study illustrates the Average Price-Per-Click in a given city for select Industries and their related segments. Additionally, it reveals its current rank to other markets in a Country, Province, and its Month over Month % Price change.

This PPC study monitors the prices of keywords, number of advertisers competing for those keywords, and search volumes. To ensure relative market-to-market comparison keywords tracked are based on sufficient search volumes in all markets studied.
