Nashville Ranked Most Expensive City for Keywords in East South Central

SEP's ongoing research into PPC Campaigns has revealed that Nashville was the most expensive city in East South Central in keyword bids in Google Adwords for the month of April 2015. Nashville also ranked the most expensive city in Tennessee. In the study, Birmingham ranked as the least expensive city in East South Central for keywords, while Birmingham ranked as the least expensive city in East South Central and Birmingham ranked as the least expensive city in Tennessee.

SEP's research shows that the average price of a click to advertisers targeting Nashville keywords increased by 11% in April 2015.

Google Adwords Keyword Prices 63% Higher in Nashville than Murfreesboro

SEP’s research also tracks Google Adwords price changes and trends in cities across Canada and the U.S. Recent data shows that average prices in Nashville are 63% higher than in Murfreesboro. The average price of a click in Nashville is $17.80.

This price difference is understandable though, given the population of Murfreesboro is less than Nashville, which generally means less competition and therefore lower prices.

To understand if prices in Nashville are relatively low, we also compared prices with Oklahoma City which has a similar population, and found the average price of a click in Nashville was 18% higher than in Oklahoma City. This suggests that perhaps Nashville prices are not relatively low.

The Price Rank shows how expensive keywords are in certain industry and segment relative to other cities in a country, region and province.

An ongoing PPC Study by Search Engine People tracks and monitors how paid search in North America’s Top Cities is changing over time for select industries.

The study illustrates the Average Price-Per-Click in a given city for select Industries and their related segments. Additionally, it reveals its current rank to other markets in a Country, Province, and its Month over Month % Price change.

This PPC study monitors the prices of keywords, number of advertisers competing for those keywords, and search volumes. To ensure relative market-to-market comparison keywords tracked are based on sufficient search volumes in all markets studied.

The study includes a limited numbers of keywords to represent each industry, and specific segments in each industry. The main industries tracked are:
