Plano Ranks Amongst Most Expensive Markets for Keywords in West South Central

SEP's ongoing research into PPC Campaigns has revealed that Plano was the 6th most expensive city in West South Central in keyword bids in Google Adwords for the month of September 2016. Plano also ranks amongst the most expensive cities in Texas, ranking 5th. In the study, Austin ranked as the most expensive city in West South Central for keywords, while El Paso ranked as the least expensive city.

SEP's research shows that the average price of a click to advertisers targeting Plano keywords increased by 13% in September 2016.

Not surprisingly, the month over month price increases for Plano Google Adwords terms helped increase prices (yr./yr. price increase)% higher than the same period last year.

Google Adwords Keyword Prices 103% Higher in Plano than Richardson

SEP’s research also tracks Google Adwords price changes and trends in cities across Canada and the U.S. Recent data shows that average prices in Plano are 103% higher than in Richardson. The average price of a click in Plano is $19.39.

This price difference is understandable though, given the population of Richardson is less than Plano, which generally means less competition and therefore lower prices.

To understand if prices in Plano are relatively low, we also compared prices with Anchorage which has a similar population, and found the average price of a click in Plano was 40% higher than in Anchorage. This suggests that perhaps Plano prices are not relatively low.

The Price Rank shows how expensive keywords are in certain industry and segment relative to other cities in a country, region and province.

This PPC study monitors the prices of keywords, number of advertisers competing for those keywords, and search volumes. To ensure relative market-to-market comparison keywords tracked are based on sufficient search volumes in all markets studied.
