Plano Ranks Amongst Most Expensive Markets for Keywords in West South Central

SEP's ongoing research into PPC Campaigns has revealed that Plano was the 10th most expensive city in West South Central in keyword bids in Google Adwords for the month of July 2015. Plano also ranks amongst the most expensive cities in Texas, ranking 8th. In the study, Carrollton ranked as the most expensive city in West South Central for keywords, while El Paso ranked as the least expensive city.

SEP's research shows that the average price of a click to advertisers targeting Plano keywords increased by 19% in July 2015.

Not surprisingly, the month over month price increases for Plano Google Adwords terms helped increase prices (yr./yr. price increase)% higher than the same period last year.

Google Adwords Keyword Prices 90% Higher in Plano than Richardson

SEP’s research also tracks Google Adwords price changes and trends in cities across Canada and the U.S. Recent data shows that average prices in Plano are 90% higher than in Richardson. The average price of a click in Plano is $17.50.

This price difference is understandable though, given the population of Richardson is less than Plano, which generally means less competition and therefore lower prices.

To understand if prices in Plano are relatively low, we also compared prices with Anchorage which has a similar population, and found the average price of a click in Plano was 38% higher than in Anchorage. This suggests that perhaps Plano prices are not relatively low.

The Price Rank shows how expensive keywords are in certain industry and segment relative to other cities in a country, region and province.

An ongoing PPC Study by Search Engine People tracks and monitors how paid search in North America’s Top Cities is changing over time for select industries.

The study illustrates the Average Price-Per-Click in a given city for select Industries and their related segments. Additionally, it reveals its current rank to other markets in a Country, Province, and its Month over Month % Price change.

This PPC study monitors the prices of keywords, number of advertisers competing for those keywords, and search volumes. To ensure relative market-to-market comparison keywords tracked are based on sufficient search volumes in all markets studied.

The study includes a limited numbers of keywords to represent each industry, and specific segments in each industry. The main industries tracked are:
