San Antonio Ranks Amongst Most Expensive Markets for Google Adwords in USA

SEP's ongoing research into PPC Campaigns has revealed that San Antonio was the 13rd most expensive city in USA in keyword bids in Google Adwords for the month of December 2014. San Antonio also ranks amongst the most expensive cities in Texas, ranking as 5th. In the study, San Buenaventura ranked as the most expensive city in the country, while Manchester ranked as the least expensive city.

Google Adwords Keyword Prices 91% Higher in San Antonio than Round Rock

SEP’s research also tracks Google Adwords price changes and trends in cities across Canada and the U.S. Recent data shows that average prices in San Antonio are 91% higher than in Round Rock. The average price of a click in San Antonio is $21.10.

This price difference is understandable though, given the population of Round Rock is less than San Antonio, which generally means less competition and therefore lower prices.

To understand if prices in San Antonio are relatively low, we also compared prices with San Diego which has a similar population, and found the average price of a click in San Antonio was 7% higher than in San Diego. This suggests that perhaps San Antonio prices are not relatively low.

An ongoing PPC Study by Search Engine People tracks and monitors how paid search in North America’s Top Cities is changing over time for select industries.

The study illustrates the Average Price-Per-Click in a given city for select Industries and their related segments. Additionally, it reveals its current rank to other markets in a Country, Province, and its Month over Month % Price change.

This PPC study monitors the prices of keywords, number of advertisers competing for those keywords, and search volumes. To ensure relative market-to-market comparison keywords tracked are based on sufficient search volumes in all markets studied.
