Birmingham Ranks Amongst Least Expensive Markets for Google Adwords in USA

SEP's ongoing research into PPC Campaigns has revealed that Birmingham was the 146th least expensive city in USA in keyword bids in Google Adwords for the month of September 2016. Birmingham also ranks amongst the least expensive cities in Alabama, ranking as number 2nd. In the study, San Buenaventura ranked as the most expensive city in the country, while Ontario ranked as the least expensive city.

SEP's research shows that the average price of a click to advertisers targeting Birmingham keywords increased by (Yr/Yr increase %)% versus the same keywords one year earlier.

Google Adwords Keyword Prices 36% Higher in Birmingham than Huntsville

SEP’s research also tracks Google Adwords price changes and trends in cities across Canada and the U.S. Recent data shows that average prices in Birmingham are 36% higher than in Huntsville. The average price of a click in Birmingham is $11.30.

This price difference is understandable though, given the population of Huntsville is less than Birmingham, which generally means less competition and therefore lower prices.

To get a better sense of relative prices, we also compared prices with another city of equal population, Spokane, and found the average price of a click in Birmingham was 9% lower than in Spokane. This suggests that perhaps prices in Birmingham are relatively low.

The Price Rank shows how expensive keywords are in certain industry and segment relative to other cities in a country, region and province.
