Mesa Ranks Amongst Most Expensive Markets for Keywords in Rocky Mountain States

SEP's ongoing research into PPC Campaigns has revealed that Mesa was the 9th most expensive city in Rocky Mountain States in keyword bids in Google Adwords for the month of November 2014. Mesa also ranks amongst the most expensive cities in Arizona, ranking 3rd. In the study, Denver ranked as the most expensive city in Rocky Mountain States for keywords, while Lincoln ranked as the least expensive city.

Google Adwords Keyword Prices 14% Higher in Mesa than Tempe

SEP’s research also tracks Google Adwords price changes and trends in cities across Canada and the U.S. Recent data shows that average prices in Mesa are 14% higher than in Tempe. The average price of a click in Mesa is $16.16.

This price difference is understandable though, given the population of Tempe is less than Mesa, which generally means less competition and therefore lower prices.

To get a better sense of relative prices, we also compared prices with another city of equal population, Virginia Beach, and found the average price of a click in Mesa was 10% lower than in Virginia Beach. This suggests that perhaps prices in Mesa are relatively low.

The Price Rank shows how expensive keywords are in certain industry and segment relative to other cities in a country, region and province.

The study illustrates the Average Price-Per-Click in a given city for select Industries and their related segments. Additionally, it reveals its current rank to other markets in a Country, Province, and its Month over Month % Price change.

This PPC study monitors the prices of keywords, number of advertisers competing for those keywords, and search volumes. To ensure relative market-to-market comparison keywords tracked are based on sufficient search volumes in all markets studied.
