Tucson Ranks Amongst Most Expensive Markets for Google Adwords in USA

SEP's ongoing research into PPC Campaigns has revealed that Tucson was the 20th most expensive city in USA in keyword bids in Google Adwords for the month of December 2014. Tucson also ranks amongst the most expensive cities in Arizona, ranking as 2nd. In the study, San Buenaventura ranked as the most expensive city in the country, while Manchester ranked as the least expensive city.

SEP's research shows that the average price of a click to advertisers targeting Tucson keywords increased by 18% in December 2014.

Google Adwords Keyword Prices 94% Higher in Tucson than Chandler

SEP’s research also tracks Google Adwords price changes and trends in cities across Canada and the U.S. Recent data shows that average prices in Tucson are 94% higher than in Chandler. The average price of a click in Tucson is $18.66.

This price difference is understandable though, given the population of Chandler is less than Tucson, which generally means less competition and therefore lower prices.

To understand if prices in Tucson are relatively low, we also compared prices with Nashville which has a similar population, and found the average price of a click in Tucson was 10% higher than in Nashville. This suggests that perhaps Tucson prices are not relatively low.

The Price Rank shows how expensive keywords are in certain industry and segment relative to other cities in a country, region and province.

The study illustrates the Average Price-Per-Click in a given city for select Industries and their related segments. Additionally, it reveals its current rank to other markets in a Country, Province, and its Month over Month % Price change.

This PPC study monitors the prices of keywords, number of advertisers competing for those keywords, and search volumes. To ensure relative market-to-market comparison keywords tracked are based on sufficient search volumes in all markets studied.
