Fresno Ranks Amongst Least Expensive Markets for Google Adwords in USA

SEP's ongoing research into PPC Campaigns has revealed that Fresno was the 102nd least expensive city in USA in keyword bids in Google Adwords for the month of September 2014. Fresno also ranks amongst the least expensive cities in California, ranking as number 24th. In the study, San Buenaventura ranked as the most expensive city in the country, while Ontario ranked as the least expensive city.

SEP's research shows that the average price of a click to advertisers targeting Fresno keywords increased by 11% in September 2014.

Google Adwords Keyword Prices 116% Higher in Fresno than Visalia

SEP’s research also tracks Google Adwords price changes and trends in cities across Canada and the U.S. Recent data shows that average prices in Fresno are 116% higher than in Visalia. The average price of a click in Fresno is $11.34.

This price difference is understandable though, given the population of Visalia is less than Fresno, which generally means less competition and therefore lower prices.

To get a better sense of relative prices, we also compared prices with another city of equal population, Tucson, and found the average price of a click in Fresno was 30% lower than in Tucson. This suggests that perhaps prices in Fresno are relatively low.

The study illustrates the Average Price-Per-Click in a given city for select Industries and their related segments. Additionally, it reveals its current rank to other markets in a Country, Province, and its Month over Month % Price change.

This PPC study monitors the prices of keywords, number of advertisers competing for those keywords, and search volumes. To ensure relative market-to-market comparison keywords tracked are based on sufficient search volumes in all markets studied.
