Sacramento Ranks Amongst Most Expensive Markets for Keywords in Pacific States

SEP's ongoing research into PPC Campaigns has revealed that Sacramento was the 10th most expensive city in Pacific States in keyword bids in Google Adwords for the month of May 2016. Sacramento also ranks amongst the most expensive cities in California, ranking 8th. In the study, San Buenaventura ranked as the most expensive city in Pacific States for keywords, while Ontario ranked as the least expensive city.

Year over Year Google Adwords Prices for Sacramento are up in May 2016

SEP's research shows that the average price of a click to advertisers targeting Sacramento keywords increased by (Yr/Yr increase %)% versus the same keywords one year earlier.

Google Adwords Keyword Prices 27% Higher in Sacramento than Fremont

SEP’s research also tracks Google Adwords price changes and trends in cities across Canada and the U.S. Recent data shows that average prices in Sacramento are 27% higher than in Fremont. The average price of a click in Sacramento is $16.46.

This price difference is understandable though, given the population of Fremont is less than Sacramento, which generally means less competition and therefore lower prices.

To understand if prices in Sacramento are relatively low, we also compared prices with Staten Island which has a similar population, and found the average price of a click in Sacramento was 18% higher than in Staten Island. This suggests that perhaps Sacramento prices are not relatively low.

The Price Rank shows how expensive keywords are in certain industry and segment relative to other cities in a country, region and province.

The study illustrates the Average Price-Per-Click in a given city for select Industries and their related segments. Additionally, it reveals its current rank to other markets in a Country, Province, and its Month over Month % Price change.
