San Bernardino Ranks Amongst Most Expensive Markets for Keywords in Pacific States

SEP's ongoing research into PPC Campaigns has revealed that San Bernardino was the 13rd most expensive city in Pacific States in keyword bids in Google Adwords for the month of December 2014. San Bernardino also ranks amongst the most expensive cities in California, ranking 10th. In the study, San Buenaventura ranked as the most expensive city in Pacific States for keywords, while Ontario ranked as the least expensive city.

SEP's research shows that the average price of a click to advertisers targeting San Bernardino keywords increased by 134% in December 2014.

Google Adwords Keyword Prices 436% Higher in San Bernardino than Rialto

SEP’s research also tracks Google Adwords price changes and trends in cities across Canada and the U.S. Recent data shows that average prices in San Bernardino are 436% higher than in Rialto. The average price of a click in San Bernardino is $15.35.

This price difference is understandable though, given the population of Rialto is less than San Bernardino, which generally means less competition and therefore lower prices.

To understand if prices in San Bernardino are relatively low, we also compared prices with Richmond which has a similar population, and found the average price of a click in San Bernardino was 29% higher than in Richmond. This suggests that perhaps San Bernardino prices are not relatively low.

An ongoing PPC Study by Search Engine People tracks and monitors how paid search in North America’s Top Cities is changing over time for select industries.

The study illustrates the Average Price-Per-Click in a given city for select Industries and their related segments. Additionally, it reveals its current rank to other markets in a Country, Province, and its Month over Month % Price change.

This PPC study monitors the prices of keywords, number of advertisers competing for those keywords, and search volumes. To ensure relative market-to-market comparison keywords tracked are based on sufficient search volumes in all markets studied.

The study includes a limited numbers of keywords to represent each industry, and specific segments in each industry. The main industries tracked are:
