Denver Ranked Most Expensive City for Google Adwords in USA

SEP's ongoing research into PPC Campaigns has revealed that Denver was the most expensive city in USA in keyword bids in Google Adwords for the month of September 2014. Denver also ranks as the most expensive city in Rocky Mountain States and Colorado. In the study, Ontario ranked as the least expensive city in the country, while Ontario ranked as the least expensive city.

Google Adwords Keyword Prices 77% Higher in Denver than Lakewood

SEP’s research also tracks Google Adwords price changes and trends in cities across Canada and the U.S. Recent data shows that average prices in Denver are 77% higher than in Lakewood. The average price of a click in Denver is $24.80.

This price difference is understandable though, given the population of Lakewood is less than Denver, which generally means less competition and therefore lower prices.

To understand if prices in Denver are relatively low, we also compared prices with Seattle which has a similar population, and found the average price of a click in Denver was 36% higher than in Seattle. This suggests that perhaps Denver prices are not relatively low.

The Price Rank shows how expensive keywords are in certain industry and segment relative to other cities in a country, region and province.

The study illustrates the Average Price-Per-Click in a given city for select Industries and their related segments. Additionally, it reveals its current rank to other markets in a Country, Province, and its Month over Month % Price change.

This PPC study monitors the prices of keywords, number of advertisers competing for those keywords, and search volumes. To ensure relative market-to-market comparison keywords tracked are based on sufficient search volumes in all markets studied.
