Pittsburgh Ranks Amongst Most Expensive Markets for Google Adwords in USA

SEP's ongoing research into PPC Campaigns has revealed that Pittsburgh was the 17th most expensive city in USA in keyword bids in Google Adwords for the month of September 2016. Pittsburgh also ranks amongst the most expensive cities in Pennsylvania, ranking as 1st. In the study, San Buenaventura ranked as the most expensive city in the country, while Ontario ranked as the least expensive city.

Year over Year Google Adwords Prices for Pittsburgh are up in September 2016

SEP's research shows that the average price of a click to advertisers targeting Pittsburgh keywords increased by (Yr/Yr increase %)% versus the same keywords one year earlier.

Google Adwords Keyword Prices 135% Higher in Pittsburgh than Akron

SEP’s research also tracks Google Adwords price changes and trends in cities across Canada and the U.S. Recent data shows that average prices in Pittsburgh are 135% higher than in Akron. The average price of a click in Pittsburgh is $20.06.

This price difference is understandable though, given the population of Akron is less than Pittsburgh, which generally means less competition and therefore lower prices.

To understand if prices in Pittsburgh are relatively low, we also compared prices with Stockton which has a similar population, and found the average price of a click in Pittsburgh was 109% higher than in Stockton. This suggests that perhaps Pittsburgh prices are not relatively low.

The Price Rank shows how expensive keywords are in certain industry and segment relative to other cities in a country, region and province.
