Seattle Ranks Amongst Most Expensive Markets for Keywords in Pacific States

SEP's ongoing research into PPC Campaigns has revealed that Seattle was the 4th most expensive city in Pacific States in keyword bids in Google Adwords for the month of September 2016. Seattle also ranks amongst the most expensive cities in Washington, ranking 2nd. In the study, San Buenaventura ranked as the most expensive city in Pacific States for keywords, while Ontario ranked as the least expensive city.

SEP's research shows that the average price of a click to advertisers targeting Seattle keywords increased by (Yr/Yr increase %)% versus the same keywords one year earlier.

Google Adwords Keyword Prices 22% Higher in Seattle than Bellevue

SEP’s research also tracks Google Adwords price changes and trends in cities across Canada and the U.S. Recent data shows that average prices in Seattle are 22% higher than in Bellevue. The average price of a click in Seattle is $18.99.

This price difference is understandable though, given the population of Bellevue is less than Seattle, which generally means less competition and therefore lower prices.

To understand if prices in Seattle are relatively low, we also compared prices with Memphis which has a similar population, and found the average price of a click in Seattle was 73% higher than in Memphis. This suggests that perhaps Seattle prices are not relatively low.

The Price Rank shows how expensive keywords are in certain industry and segment relative to other cities in a country, region and province.
