Seattle Ranks Amongst Most Expensive Markets for Google Adwords in USA

SEP's ongoing research into PPC Campaigns has revealed that Seattle was the 19th most expensive city in USA in keyword bids in Google Adwords for the month of June 2016. Seattle also ranks amongst the most expensive cities in Washington, ranking as 2nd. In the study, San Buenaventura ranked as the most expensive city in the country, while Ontario ranked as the least expensive city.

SEP's research shows that the average price of a click to advertisers targeting Seattle keywords increased by 15% in June 2016.

Not surprisingly, the month over month price increases for Seattle Google Adwords terms helped increase prices (yr./yr. price increase)% higher than the same period last year.

Google Adwords Keyword Prices 14% Lower in Seattle than Bellevue

SEP’s research also tracks Google Adwords price changes and trends in cities across Canada and the U.S. Recent data shows that average prices in Seattle are 14% lower than in Bellevue. The average price of a click in Seattle is $20.96.

This price difference is interesting though, given the population of Bellevue is less than Seattle.

To understand if prices in Seattle align relatively, we also compared prices with Memphis, which has a similar population, and found the average price of a click in Seattle was 73% higher than in Memphis.

The Price Rank shows how expensive keywords are in certain industry and segment relative to other cities in a country, region and province.

The study illustrates the Average Price-Per-Click in a given city for select Industries and their related segments. Additionally, it reveals its current rank to other markets in a Country, Province, and its Month over Month % Price change.

This PPC study monitors the prices of keywords, number of advertisers competing for those keywords, and search volumes. To ensure relative market-to-market comparison keywords tracked are based on sufficient search volumes in all markets studied.
