I hear ya! I also agree with you about the interviews (that’s kind of where I was going with all the stuff on talking to people): I’m working on one right now with someone I admire immensely, and it’s fun!

Writing blog posts can be very challenging for many when it comes to coming up with topic ideas. Between Google alerts, industry news and your own internal resources you can really come up with some great content. I find it best to put a content strategy together prior to writing because it can really keep your efforts efficient and streamlined.

Sensible advice – though I can honestly say that thinking up topics to blog on is not generally the issue. My problem is not enough time to write posts around all the titles I’ve made a note of!

I’d just add that interviews make great content, take some of the pressure off you to write all the content, and are enjoyed by readers too. Plus your interviewees will often promote the interview to their followings too, which gives a nice traffic boost.

Nice list. These are all good suggestions. Other ideas include searching for questions relevant to your business on Quora.com and Focus.com. I’ve also read recommendations to go through your Analytics to find keyphrases you rank for. Some of these may be topics that you could write more about.

I once wrote a post about overcoming writers block. It quotes a few authors who suggest writers block is a myth! Enjoy…
