Hi Samantha, Yes, it is very easy to take a screenshot on an iPhone. Just press the power and home buttons briefly at the same time. The iPhone will make a shutter sound, indicating that a picture of the screen was taken. The picture will appear in the Camera Roll section of the photos app. From there, your friend can email you the picture of your website as it appears on their phone.

Hi Samantha, if you have any friends who have iPhones or iPads, they can take a screenshot of your website and email it to you. That way you could seen exactly how your site appears to users of those devices. The image of your website would tell you if you need to make any changes to have the site fully accessible to mobile users. Even though use of mobile devices isn’t common where you live, it’s the primary means of accessing the internet in some countries.

Ruud, great question for Samantha! It’s a good idea to set priorities in updating the use of technology in marketing. Trying to implement all of the suggestions at one time might be a bit overwhelming.

Hi Peter, You’re right, every business should have a Facebook page and a Twitter account. QR codes are valuable also to provide customers with discounts, additional product information and contact information. I predict we will see many more QR codes in the future as an increasing number of businesses utilize this handy communications tool.

WOW! What a thorough post, Carolyn! I’m so glad I found you here because this guest post is the perfect overview to share and introduce people to you and your expertise! =)

I’m feeling like I’m halfway covered with your list, but I sure could benefit from learning more about QR codes, taking advantage of YouTube and making sure that my website is compatible with mobile phones. I’ll have to ask my family across the continents to check for me because Internet access on mobile phones isn’t very common here yet. =P

Businesses now have at least Twitter and Facebook accounts. QR codes are also becoming popular with shoppers who want to get great deals.

Hi Mike, Smart idea to grab your blog name as a Twitter ID. Even if you don’t use it imediately, it’s a good idea to get it while it’s available. To see if it’s available, just search @yourblogname. If you don’t find anything, the Twitter ID is probably available (thought Twitter has retired some ID’s). Twitter is a great way to publicize your blog and let the world know about your posts!

Hi Carolyn,

Good blog. I need a Twitter account in the same name as my new blog! I am not yet convinced about a smart phone; but I’m warming to the idea. I have seen one on special offer with my carrier! It’s Android and so I might get that! I have checked to see if the URL of my new blog is available and it is; but I can’t think of a way to check Twitter – but it stands a good chance.
