In reply to <a href="https://www.searchenginepeople.com/blog/125-business-blogging.html/comment-page-1#comment-857716">Jurriaan Schokker</a>.

Certainly agree, Jurriaan; blogs help you step out of product catalog language and "just talk" with people. That gets you a very broad word usage.

I think of it as a choice between having 1 product detail page on your site -- or potentially hundreds talking about every which aspect of the product, its uses, the problems it solves, etc.

Thanks for the comment Jurriaan!

Ken, I couldn't agree more. I think with social media now becoming such an open space for customers to make complaints heard or provide feedback with regards to specific products; it would be extremely interesting to see how businesses could address these issues in their blog.

Tx for your contribution, Jonny!

I'd like to clarify that blogging helps you with the long tail strategy. You touched on this in #5.

In comparison, Twitter is a fluent medium. But a blog helps you to approach your subject/product/service/brand form any angle possible; and people WILL eventually find your portal as a result.

I'd like to add that a blog can also help you when you change to another market, brand or product.

Cheers!

Thanks for the comment, Darren. Buffer is very nice indeed. I like Hootsuite's scheduling as well but it's not so readily available as Buffer is

It's obvious that blogging has many positive effects on a company but it should be used wisely. Conversely, larger companies would receive both positive and negative input from clients seeing as they do many things that they don't want to be seen or spoken about.

Maybe if they did use blogs to communicate with clients it could help fix misunderstandings or rectify prior mistakes, but that's another story. Thanks for these 10 great points!
