Hi Rob,

Yes, I enjoy my fireplace and those of us living in the northern hemisphere are now archiving our firewood, so to speak. Like blog posts, today's wood should be even better by this next November.

Funny you brought up Slideshare...I just started looking at using it with my blog website. I think it's an effective tool for today's online marketing.

One last point....why you want to bother Mr. Rusty, mate? ;)

In reply to <a href="https://www.searchenginepeople.com/blog/125-old-content-new-heat.html/comment-page-1#comment-729848">Roshan</a>.

That's good to hear, Roshan.

Repurposing is basically blog hacking. You really can get a lot of extra time by doing it.

Cheers,

Love this whole idea. And I'm a bit of a firebug, so you had me at the title.

Let's keep her burning ...

Just by READING my older posts it sparks me into wanting to write more, better content. It relights the passion and that's vital for when the flames are dying down too.

So, whether you repurpose old content or just use it to get re-inspired, that aged firewood is your key to setting the internet ablaze.

I love how you talk about taking the flame to light another TYPE of content. I know Brian Clark often bangs on about transforming podcast transcripts into ebooks, ebooks into slideshares and so on. Would love to get your take on that slideshare part.

Anyway, let's go light a paperbag of dog poo and set it down on Old Man Rusty's doorstep ...

Great read.

I actually tried out the archived blog posts a while back. It worked. It was like knocking down 100 birds with one stone. More visitors through one article.

I will definitely try out some of those other ideas.
