Guest posting I think is definitely the best for a long term strategy. Giveaway's are good, but you only get an influx of traffic during the giveaway and retention could be low. Guest posts work because (a) you are offering value at an already established site, and are exposed to the existing audience (b) the blog post will stay up forever, and hopefully, be relevant for years to come, whereas a giveaway no one cares about the second after the prize is gone (c) you get the permanent backlink from the website, and possibly anyone else who shares the article. (d) Writing and article and giving away (knowledge) shows you in a different light than someone just giving away a free TV.

Glad to see you here, David.

Loved your post.

Giveaways are definitely one of the greatest way to get more comments, shares and also loads of traffic.
Honestly speaking I haven't tried this. But I've seen some blogs where giveaway posts have more comments.

Giveaways concept, definitely deserves #1 spot in this blog post.

Round up posts are getting more and more popular.
Audience like to view opinions of different people in a particular thing in a single place.
It gets more traction. That's the beauty of it.

Another point that caught my mind is, telling a story.
Including anecdotes work great.
It leaves your readers laughing, emotional or even crying.

It also acts as a perfect substitute for introduction. it helps you to perfectly pin-point the intent of your post.
The retention rate is more.

Cheers,
Akshay~
