Soumya, this is a guest post, not written by SEP.

I disagree with you... (I'm not a digital marketing agency, a small business marketing consultant/agency who's worked with small business and small startups for 13 yrs)

Let's talk reality...

This blog is well-written basic educational blog for small companies, that I will refer clients to...as it's easy-to-understand level for folks not familiar with SEO.

For a client who is investing in a website ($2500-$3000 Canadian / $1500-2K USD) getting help with keyword search and the right meta titles is step 1. ALT tags etc, are beyond them, let alone uploading the jpg with the correct filename. The concept of getting listed in online directories... How many can afford to sign up for $500 a month service (6K a year)... they've got to understand, and walk before they run.

Ryan, suggest when you quote a stat, it's helpful to quote the source... this"571" stat appears to be from 2013... 3 years ago! More current info is helpful.

This is a good content but surely not a complete post. With all due respect to the author and the Search Engine People team, I strongly believe that doing these are not going to be enough today. These all are very fundamental techniques of SEO and must be followed and done properly as said here, but there are lot many things which must be known and executed to get the best organic results on search engines. Budget SEO does not mean incomplete SEO.
