link building and unique content, very fascinating suggestion, but i want to know how to get rid from duplcate article, for example I’d made some articles but someone copypaste from mine, it will decrease SEO and SERP performance isnt it ?

I’d also add to this that the Google Local business directory does very well for brick-and-mortar businesses. It allows people to leave reviews, which most people trust.

Hi Melanie, quite interesting reading. For kw research it is just incredible how many small business run for very competitive keywords instead of going slow, with those on which they might have any success…
Of course, kw research can be done also later, but it is a tremendous help to do it first and to concentrate on those \easy to catch\ long-tailed keywords. 🙂

As an add-on for kw research, I would definitely recommend Alexa’s stats and AwStats for what keywords bring traffic.
