EGOL, when I hired my first employees and moved to an office we were placed on a waiting list for DSL… we had to use dailup. I bugged the DSL installer every day because I was paying two people to tap their toes waiting for pages to load and files to upload using dailup.

I think that they should have paid me to use it.

I’d write a real long response…..but it wouldn’t be worth it w/dial up. Hope you get fast speed access ASAP.

I spent 5 years until 2003 on dialup – there were no high speed providers as we were too far out of town.
I got used to it.
We were masochistically serving websites from our server, although only personal ones – I became the queen of low bandwidth development! 🙂
Wouldn’t want to go back to it – when we first moved in here last year we were on ISDN at first as ADSL hadn’t reached here (what can I say? We like living way out of town!) and after a couple of years on cable I really felt the difference – obviously even ISDN isn’t fast enough for me now.
I don’t think I could go back to dialup and not kill someone.

I am not what I would do if i lost my 8meg connection and had to go for dialup.
