In the good old days, webmasters would gather together once a month and become a united community as they watched the google dance over the course of a few days. Then, the monthly SERPs dances stopped happening, so webmasters, began to gather together every so often to watch the backlinks and PR dance. It was not quite as thrilling as the old google dances, but at least there was a bit of excitement in the air. These days, backlink updates are ridiculously uneventful, and PR updates are so few and far between that the thrill is gone.
Now, when each sites keywords rise up in the SERPs, they do so at random times, and there is no one to share the event with. No large masses of webmasters to cheer or moan about the changes. Just each webmaster left alone to share the events with their family members, most of whom could care less.
Oh sure, technically, it is nice to have SERPs updated round the clock, but the fun is gone. Sometimes better technology is boring.
