I caught some kind of bug, so I may be lying in bed for a while, unable to post. Until I can manage to think again, I thought I'd leave you with an idea for some homework for the week. Find the top 5 pages on your site that get the least amount of traffic, but have the most potential. We all have pages like that on our site. For one reason or another, we thought they would do well, but they just never have.
Tend to those pages this week. Feed them a little chicken soup to nourish them and help them fight off whatever cooties have invaded them. Look at those pages the way a doctor would look at a patient. Using an objective, critical eye, diagnose what the problems are with those pages, and come up with a strategy to cure them of their ills.
Sorry for the cheesy analogies but hey, I'm sick, so cut me some slack. 🙂 I'm going to crawl back into bed now, and you have homework to do.
I have just done that with a site some two weeks ago; and it was only three pages to start with.
Traffic went up 10% on the site as soon as Google had re-indexed and re-ranked those pages.
That is good advice (the bit for us) that should be part of ongoing site maintenance.
But then most people tend to sluff their homework. Until Ms. Fontenot sends another note home…
That is quite a virulent orange. May you be a more becoming shade of purple soon.
Good advice to tend to pages that need a little TLC. I try to keep them in mind when linking to older posts, but some dedicated attention is probably a good idea.
Hope you feel better.
