I have located 16 (so far) newer websites offering a service to buy Google 1's for your website. It appears like a lucrative niche and I may enter it myself.

But for the moment, I am thinking of purchasing 500 1's for an eCommerce website that I am developing.

Given what we know about, does this SEO tactic make sense?

Today when I logged into Adsense, I was prompted with this message:

"Add the +1 button to your pages. Adding the +1 button to your pages allows users to recommend your content to friends and contacts on Google search. As a result, you could get more and better qualified traffic."

Let's give this a try n see what happens.

If I don't know a person who +1'd something do I care? I don't think Google will care either, IMO, this will apply at a personal level cuz the signal is too easy to spam to be used in any other manner. As proof...no indication that twitter has influenced anything beyond changing results to include people from your social circle who have tweeted relevant content. Personally see no value beyond that! Link builders would spam the heck out of it.

I think Google has learned a lot from their past experiences. Their show of hand was in the release of their tool to help flesh out what is and isn't a content farm. Google has found a way to have those human signals help them confirm or deny what they already have a hunch of.

Personally I wold love to see Google introduce a nice social tool into their search results that would actually stick around longer than just a couple of headlines and blog posts. I know they have been struggling now for some time trying to get this social "layer" under grasp.
