Thank you for the kind words, Lyena. We're a former software development company, so we've got the needed resources. Nevertheless, I guess that there are quite a few wysiwyg tools out there that could help most internet marketers create useful tools for their customers.

As you pointed out, building alternative traffic sources is mandatory, even though the process requires effort and patience. Still, this will separate the winners from the others at the end of the day.

Jillian,
Unfortunately, the traffic will never be that balanced. Google search traffic will dominate because that's where people go when they have a question. If you look at other possible traffic sources and find the ones that fit your business, you might become less dependent on Google. Just keep your options open.

Great idea, George. If your business can benefit from an application and you have resources to create them, it is a very good traffic source.
The majority of your visitors will continue to come from Google. However, the point is to always look for alternative sources of traffic. Similar, to the quest for sources of alternative energy. :)

One thing that has worked great for me is the creation of small applications that are given away at my website. Each application includes a link back to my site, and this sends a consistent stream of direct traffic to my website, making it rely less and less on Google. I'll have to admit that the bulk majority of my visitors continue to come from Google, though.
