Zarko, this topic is rarely discussed. Lots of focus on building links, organically of course, but not much discussion of their odds of decay (or potential for improvement). I'm betting this well-done post will retain it's value so I'm leaving a backlink, er, comment.

Hi. Good tips. I think the most important thing is to constantly build quality links. Actually there are two things in the previous sentence. When you build every day a few links and never stop or give up, in time you will get further and further above your competitors. Some will just give up, other will get more and more lazy and build less links. If you never give up and keep adding value to your site (with great content and links) one day you are doomed to achieve success :).
As the author said, good tutorials are great for the long term. Make great content when you make guest post as well, not only when you make your own blog. Also go through your posts from time to time to check for old information that is not true anymore. For example in my Skype related website I am about to this. Since there are new versions of Skype all the time, now I need to check my tutorials and make them fresh and accurate if I want to keep the visitors happy and my posts ranking.
Regards :).
