Hi Maureen,

This technique can be used with HTML 5, we can use Microdata to markup Video content. I used Rdfa to markup video as the website was not in HTML 5. Below code will markup html5 page:

 Video: Title

 Video description

You just need to add that embaded code using method. For more on this visit:http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.in/2012/02/using-schemaorg-markup-for-videos.html

In reply to <a href="https://www.searchenginepeople.com/blog/maximize-video-sales-leads.html/comment-page-1#comment-244041">Salik Khan</a>.

Hi Salik, you make some interesting points, Perhaps they are more relevant for HTML 4 (which is still in use), but now a number of developers and Google is starting to use the newer, rich elements of HTML 5. Thank you for your feedback. It's great to learn new things and share our findings!

Hi There,

Thanks for sharing great article on Video optimization. I would like to add one important point here, usage of Semantic Markup in order to increase the probability of getting rich snippets in SERP. As the study suggested that pages with videos have high conversion rates, if your video is appearing in SERP, your CTR will be high for sure. You can either use RDFa or Microdata to markup your videos. Having said that, if you using videos from Video hosting websites, it wont be easy to generate the markup. However, I did an experiment with Videos Hosted on YouTube, and it worked. This blog post contains relevant information for the same: http://baawraman.wordpress.com/2012/12/03/generate-rich-snippets-in-serp-for-videos-hosted-on-youtube/

I hope it will help users.

Thanks
