It can be beneficial not only for active myspace users but also people who are active in both myspace and face book. you save time by posting on one network and share the post on the other network.

It is a Good move from Myspace to retain its existing users. The network which was slowly losing it’s popularity has gained some reputation by having a tie up with the market leader.

MySpace should not try to ape Facebook to survive. I have a page on both social networks (and on Twitter as well), they do different things. The range of people I am in contact on both sites is not the same. MySpace has been good for me to reach people I would have not otherwise, and not in Facebook, for sure. I have learned about artists, musicians, etc, through it. It gives more space for individual freedom in its contents and visual design. Facebook is better to talk to my friends, etc. MySpace allows me to have a site with my own style, not a Same Size Fits Them All, as Facebook is.

I would have preferred that MySpace would have stayed independent. Dreams, I suppose.

But surely you can just turn off the notifications from myspace on facebook? Just like you can turn off farmville notifications. You can even stop people you don’t want to know about from appearing on your wall (but you can still click on their page to spy on them :-))

Does anyone still use myspace? The friends that I know have deleted their myspace accounts a long time ago.
