Social media participation does effect organic rankings on a whole if done correctly.  I think too many businesses just participate in social networks (twitter, plus one, facebook), and do not tie them all together with a blog on their own domain.  
When you make regular posts on your site&#039;s blog on YOUR domain, and then use social media to gain followers, likes, shares, stumbles, etc... you bring those ranking factors to your OWN website.]]></description>
