I agreed that title tags are very important and should match the content. If you prefer to all-in-seo plugin, it is also good as they are able to be used as alternative on the title tags

Title tags are so important and should match the content to a great degree. I actually use the post title (not title tag) as the post description. You still need to make sure your posts/site have call to action(s).

Great post! I like the common-sense approach to get a lot of return from a short investment of time.

When considering ways to optimize I think it’s easy to miss the human element and whether the time invested is actually worth it. But this is a really doable way to make lemons out of lemonade — and quickly.
