Great interview - thanks for this. The thing that stuck out to me was where he says, and I paraphrase - it isn't just about rankings, it's about return on investment. Absolutely right on the money, so to speak!

great interview :)
its sad to know that people try to scrap of your premium content or even your free content... it makes me sad when people try to use someone else's content for business use.

i have always considered to make a premium community based website, a close site only for members, so far my only income stream is contextual.

though, i have always valued the content available at aaronwall's site and when i read things like this where you say, you won't give any killer tips for free, or for freetards, it sort of discourages people who are, say students, collage or collage drop outs, or people who have lost jobs or everyday moms... not everyone that can't pay is a freetard and a help provided to them is always cool.

being a collage drop out, i know the value of these free tips because i know that most people like me always comes empty handed and unexperenced... and sometimes people like this/me also do not value good tips because they honestly don't understand it initially :) but at a later stage they realize and are thankful to all those that have helped them to reach thus far...

Gosh, Ruud, what a great interview. You ask truly thoughtful and creative questions. I don't think I've ever once exchanged a word with Aaron Wall, but I know his blog is one of the first I ever found when I started researching SEO and he has remained in my mind one of the most straight-talking fellows in the industry. I really appreciate that about him. You can't help but wish him huge success in everything he does, because I think that in an odd sort of way, he wears his heart on his sleeve in business.

Really enjoyable read, Ruud. Thanks!

I think I should reread my copy of "A Thousand Years of Nonlinear History" I've bought 10 years ago. After all it's nonlinear so 10 years more or less do not matter ;-)
